The Workshop will be held at the North Universalist Chapel, an historic church built in 1835. The large open sanctuary is graced with tall multi-panel windows that bathe the room in light. The Church is just steps from the village green in Woodstock, Vermont, described as “the prettiest small town in America” by the Ladies’ Home Journal.

Accommodations: Lovely and inexpensive bed & breakfast accommodations are available in local homes. (We urge participants to support the workshop by staying with local hosts who barter for part of their tuition and support our program at the North Chapel by providing bed & breakfast for workshop participants.) Inn accommodations may be available in Woodstock, but are very expensive for Columbus Day Weekend, which is the height of leaf season. For this workshop, the Western Wind is providing only bed & breakfast options.

Early Bird Tuition: $395 per person (if enrolled by 9/22/17; after 9/22/17 tuition is $425)

Bed & Breakfast: $65 per night per person, double; $80 per night, single; $115 per night, couple

Meal Package: $95 (includes Saturday, Sunday & Monday lunch and Saturday & Sunday dinner)

Tuition: $395 per person (by 9/22/17; after 9/22/17 tuition is $425). Discounts available on tuition for groups of six or more. A 5% tuition discount is applied for Friends of the Western Wind. Partial scholarships available based on financial need.

3-night B&B accommodations coordinated by The Western Wind are as follows:

Housing preferences will be granted on a first-come first-served basis. Meal costs are calculated separately per details below.

Meals: $95 – includes lunch & dinner on Saturday & Sunday, lunch on Monday, and opening night reception.

Arrival/Departure Info

Check-in will take place from 5–7:00 pm Friday, October 9.
The workshop will end at around 4:00 pm on Monday, October 12.

Registration Policy

Please enroll in advance. By making your $150 deposit you set all the wheels in motion. You will receive an email with a letter and a questionnaire. The balance is due at registration upon your arrival in Woodstock. If you are having any trouble enrolling online please call us at 800-788-2187 or email us at info@westernwind.org. Please let us know if you are planning to enroll on-site at the last minute. If this is your first Western Wind workshop, please try to arrive early, if you possibly can, so we can spend a few minutes with you in order place you in an appropriate ensemble.

Music Policy and Group Discount Information

Music Policy

♫ The cost of the large group piece is included in your weekend’s tuition. However, you are required to purchase music used in your small ensembles.

♪ Octavos must be purchased at their retail value.

♪ If your group uses one piece out of a larger collection, you may request (before using or marking the larger book, please!) that the selection be photocopied for you at the charge of 15 cents per page (each side). Please destroy all photocopies of copyrighted music at the weekend’s conclusion pursuant to copyright law.

♪ Music that you make marks in must be purchased.

♫ A library of outstanding ensemble music is also available for your perusal and purchase. Please feel free to browse. A 10% discount applies to music and concession purchases that total $100 or more! 15% if it’s $200 or more!

Bring Your Group!

Pre-existing groups are welcome at Western Wind Workshops. If enough members of a group enroll, they can apply for a tuition discount and work together as a group. Please contact The Western Wind for details as early as possible.
